Wisconsin Uprising Marks One-Year Anniversary

Valerie Van Horn brought her crock pot to the rotunda on Tuesday to commemorate the one year anniversary of the beginning of the Wisconsin Uprising. Shortly after the capitol occupation ended last winter, the Department of Administration came up with a list of items “prohibited” from the capitol. A foamboard sign was placed on an easel at the capitol entrance, with “snakes, crock pots, massage beds, appliances, mattresses,” and, ironically, “easels” listed among many other banned items.

Of course, a year ago, weapons were not allowed inside the capitol. Now, anyone with a concealed carry permit can bring in a loaded gun.
